BURNING TIMES SETS THE RECORD
STRAIGHT
Greetings,
In response to your inquiry about our
'intentions', let me set the record straight: Our group
developed as a response to Wicca and Pagan sites posting
the graphic "Never again the Burning
Times". All those associated with the
Burning Times On-line don't think the fires are out
yet. We want to bring attention to the modern
Burning Times as much as the historic...... The
burning times exist as long as Pagans are persecuted....
and Christians
persecute all alternate religions.
We are bringing Pagans up to date about their culture and
oppression. If
your publication could help us get this message out, it
would be most
appreciated.
Our method is based on A Master's theory that Pagans
including Wiccans who spend time supporting the historic
Burning Times, then it sidetracks them
from dealing with the persecution which goes on still
today. Pagans need
to observe their victimization just like our ancestors
and fight for their
freedom, just like our ancestors tried to.
Our goal is to make sure our ancestors did not die in
vain.
We are continuing were they left off. If Pagans
live in the past, they are
blind to the present and future. THE BURNING
TIMES ARE NOT OVER. Our on-line movement is
the action headquarters for the modern Burning
Times........ The day we take our site off-line is the
day that Pagans can celebrate their holidays in the
streets and towns.
Not in secret, in hiding. WE ARE NOT FREE until all
Pagans recognize that
the Burning Times are not over. We don't know if
they will burn us on
crosses until we demand recognition in society.
Our mission is to produce public events such as Pagan
Awareness Week and
the Vigils on Halloween..... We are the headquarters for
the Unholy War -
The Pagan Revolution. Our purpose is to bring
together people's from all
religions. We want to develop a fund for poor
pagans who are persecuted,
so they can hire constitutional lawyers.
I suppose, my point being, there are thousands of Pagan
(Wicca ect.) sites
and organizations. Do you remember the Pagan March
on Washington? A few years ago, a few of us felt
like society needed to acknowledge the victims
of the historic Pagan holocausts which includes witch
hunts. But, when we
approached the leading Pagan groups in the world and
Wiccan and pagan
sites - we were devastated with the lack of
support. We realized that most
pagans and wiccans focused on their practices, ambiance
and each other.
Women, Gays, Jews, African-Americans and other oppressed
groups did not win their freedom by keeping to
themselves. They stormed the streets, they got
arrested, they fought legal battles, they demanded their
ancestors be
honored, they demanded their holidays be respected on the
national
calendar. As victims of oppression, they fought for
their freedom. But,
we discovered that most Wiccan and Pagan groups told us
that a revolution
was negative. So, guided by A Master, we
developed the Burning Times
On-line. Action Headquarters for the UNHOLY
WAR. The war between
Christianity and Paganism which began over 2000 years
ago. The first major
Pagan holocaust was in the fourth century A.D. It
was led by the Romans
and Christians who allied. They tore down
Pagan sacred tablets and made
roads for the Roman soldiers out of them.
Set (Satanism) was an Egyptian pagan religion which was
one of the many
Pagan religions attacked and destroyed.
The witch burnings, a.k.a.'The Burning Times' was a
period of Pagan history
which has the most documentation and evidence of its
existence. As you
know, the Salem trials are the most advanced documented
incidents of
Christian persecution upon the Pagan people. The
point I'm making is - we
call the Pagan/Christian war, "The Unholy
War". The sad part being, over
the centuries, Pagans have been so oppressed and
persecuted that they
quiver and hide in the dark. Fearing to be
recognized. Our ancestors
built Pagan temples, they had public holidays and
celebrations.
If those Pagans existed today - they would make Pagan
films, t.v shows,
music, build temples, fight the supreme court for their
constitutional
rights. Alas, what would our ancestors think if
they knew that when the
day comes when Christians are not allowed to murder
Pagans in public, the
Pagan population would sit and do nothing. Why did
they die? For the
first time since the Unholy War began, the Christians can
no longer order
the governments and kings to send their armies and
soldiers out to
slaughter us. And how to Pagans repay the blessing
of a
politically-correct era? They act as if the
soldiers are waiting outside
for them.
The Burning Times On-line is the
resurrection of the Burning Times.
But, this time, we shall win our freedom. We shall
be able to build our
temples, honor our deities, celebrate our 'holy'
days. We shall be able to
see Pagan videos on MTV, see Pagan sitcoms, mourn
as a nation for our
ancestors holocausts. All we need to do as a
Pagan nation is 'go for it'.
What is Clinton going to do? Call in the National
Guard?
I don't think so. So what are Pagans so afraid
off? Loosing face with
their associates? Getting fired from
work? Getting arrested?
That's nothing compared to what our ancestors
risked. Anyway, do Pagans
think Christians will build a temple to Isis or Diana or
Set?
The Burning Times On-line is a community of people from
all over the world.
You, me, and so many others. Together, we can put
an end to the Unholiest
War in modern human history. Together, we can march
the streets proudly
wearing our Pentagrams. Together, we can dance in
our towns square on the
Solstice and the community respects our celebration and
presence.
We don't provide spells, rituals, beliefs or even comic
relief.
We provide Freedom - Martin Luther King had a dream for
his people.
We have a dream for our people.
I suppose I spouted all this out so you have a very clear
idea of what we
are about. At this point, on an environmental
stance in history, society
would benefit from Pagan participation.
So many Pagan groups are Spiritual Environmentalists.
What good are they if they whisper their wisdom instead
of singing it out
aloud for the masses to hear.

THE BURNING TIMES
FALSE DEFINITON COMES FROM......
Do not get me wrong...I myself am
a Pagan and do feel the pain of present day persecusion,
but I feel that you have been too hasty in thinking that
the burning times of witches of the past have anything to
do with us. Yes, it was a nasty gynocide but after
further investegation into the reasons behind and lives
of those killed I came to discover they had little to do
with the "witches" of present day. The
term "witches" back then meant nothing like it
does today. It was a woman of sin (though she
usually wasn't). The burning times was a
governmental or church structured play on getting land
and wealth from others. Elderly women who have lost
their husbands, and therefore, owned land were targeted
in order to get the land away from them. Women
herbalists and mid-wives were targeted for their direct
threat to "modern" medicine and doctors.
Most of them were christian or just believed in the
folklore that surrounded the area (some from pagan-like
beliefs and some not). It
conserns me that you claim that this is your religious
history; that we have had an underground pagan movement
during the christian control. This makes it sound
like these women caught as "witches", though
they claimed themselves a good, devout christians, were
having secretive coven meetings with passwords and
tatooes to identify themselves. This is not the
case. I worry simply because that
claiming this to be our past is discrediting us among the
intellectuals of the world. I am in college and
have heard this to be the complaint against our
people. They have proved that these women
were not the witches we thought them to be and have used
it against us. If we have a past it was before the
christians' time during the goddess religion phase of
history. But even if we do not have a past, that
does not make us any less of a religion; we make our own
roots. I only ask of you to do your
research in an unbiased, clear mind and you might come to
the same conclusion I have. I still think that
their lives need to be fought for. They went
through horrible, undeniably evil pain and death.
And for no reason what so ever...they were christian
women trying to serve and be dutiful to their
christianity and people. It is just that if you
continue on the path of believing and quoting this
lie...it will destroy all our credibility, and therefore,
any support from the intellectual and learned classes
will be gone. Thank you for your time,
